John Thomas Ewald

Hello. My name is John Ewald and if you are reading this, this will be your personal guide to finding out everything you need to know about ME! Well, not everything, but you get the idea. I am a Montana native who has lived here all of my life, but for the 2 years which I spent in my birthplace, Grand Rapids, Minnesota. Growing up, I remember having many sketch books and always drawing. I would draw everything from animals, nature scenes, and abstract art to cartoons, Disney characters, athletes, and anything that was fun and challenging. This grew into a love of art and pushing my limits as a artist throughout school as a child and into my teens. By the time I was a Senior in high school, I knew my passion for art was something I would always appreciate and would stick with me. This was the point I decided I would pursue a career in Graphic Design. Although I wasn't exactly sure what this industry entailed at this point in my life, I knew it was related to art and that it would be a new and exiting challenge for me. Boy was I right! Graphic Design has been one of the best challenges I have ever taken on in my life. The combination of each feeling and emotion I get from using the creative part of my mind is what keeps me interested and challenged to constantly try and push the limits of what graphic design is and can be. As a graphic designer, I have learned that setting high standards for myself and in my work environment is the key to success and that being a perfectionist in what I do isn't always a bad thing. Did I mention I can play a mean acoustic guitar and am the karaoke king?

As the Senior [Lead] Graphic Designer, I was responsible for creating design concepts for clients who needed assistance in visual communication.

Design duties include, but not limited to: logo design, ad layout, brochures, 3-dimensional displays, trade show graphics, business cards, post-cards, letterhead, signs, banners, vehicle graphics, T-shirt design.

Other duties include: operating a wide-format 4 color process printer, vinyl cutting plotter, project research, selling products, estimating jobs, producing signs, etc.
